Cracking the Code 6: Essential FAQ on YRC-8Pro Cutting Fluid for Wet & Dry Milling | Yucera

2026-03-01

Q: When performing wet cutting with YRC-8Pro, what type of cutting fluid should be selected for different materials? What are the differences between pure cutting oil, semi-synthetic water-based cutting fluid, and fully synthetic water-based cutting fluid?

A:

1.Pure cutting oil:

  • Suitable for machining titanium alloys or stainless steel;
  • It exhibits excellent extreme pressure (EP) and wear resistance properties. Under high pressure, a boundary oil film forms at the cutting interface, reducing tool wear and improving machining accuracy and speed.
  • Contains synthetic lubricants and extreme pressure additives, which can improve the surface finish of machined parts;
  • It possesses excellent cooling and lubrication performance and outstanding chip removal capability;
  • Recommended viscosity is below 15° API (ideally even lower);
  • The flash point (ignition point) should be as high as possible.

2.Semi-synthetic water-based cutting fluid:

  • Suitable for machining titanium alloys or stainless steel
  • Odorless, non-irritating to hands, and environmentally friendly
  • It has excellent cooling and lubrication properties, superior chip removal ability, and rust prevention function.
  • pH range: 8.5%-9.5%

3.Fully synthetic water-based cutting fluid:

  • Suitable for processing ceramic glass (Lithium Dislicate)
  • Colorless, odorless, and non-irritating to the skin
  • Quick defoaming
  • It exhibits excellent particle settling properties for ceramic glass (Lithium Dislicate), facilitating debris filtration and separation.
  • It has excellent cooling and lubrication properties, and also has anti-rust characteristics.
  • pH range: 8%-10%
